PRESENTATION

Maurice Moyne

Born on February 15, 1947 in the city of the painters of Morestel (38), he is a self-taught painter figurative oil colorist.
Specialized in portraits of musicians, jazzmen in particular, and all portraits on demand.

Painter of Marols

Member of the Foréziens Independent Artists and also Member of the Artists of Marols, city of character, and known for its village of creators.
His studio is located in the old cure, Rue du Moulin in Marols (42560).

PAINTING METHOD

Preference for monochromes

After a precise drawing and execution of the background, like a printer. The portrait begins at the top, and appears with all its details as it descends, finished at the bottom, like a rolling curtain.

Precision in the execution

The white is that of the canvas, the single color used (special affection for the red) corresponds to the purest shade. It is only the amount of material deposited by touching or loading the canvas, combined with the white of the support that defines the different shades, without any mixture ensuring the purity of the pigment in all its gradations. The whites are preserved in the watercolour style. The tones can only be raised, but not lightened, hence the precision required during the execution.
